What Is a Discbound Planner? (and why people love them)
If you've ever wanted to make tweaks to your planner, change the weekly layout, the order of pages, customise it to your own style, then discbound might be exactly what you're looking for.
If you've ever wished you could make a few little tweaks to your planner, change the weekly layout, the order of pages, customise it to your own style, then discbound might be exactly what you're looking for.
A discbound setup is a customisable planner, journal or notebook system that allows you to add, remove and rearrange pages however you please. Instead of a traditional spine or rings, discbound setups actually use discs to hold all the pages together. I know what you're thinking, how can that even secure the pages properly? Each page is punched with mushroom shaped holes, allowing them to easily snap onto the special shaped discs.

A discbound planner is made up of three simple components:
The front and back of your planner that protects your pages and gives it your style.
The special discs that form the spine of the planner and hold everything together (available in a range of colours and materials).
The pages inside your planner. So, for example, this could be weekly pages, monthly or yearly overviews, goal setting sheets, note pages, habit trackers, project planners, anything your inner planner girl desires!
Discbound planners, journals and notebooks are loved for their simplicity and flexibility. They have everything you love in a traditional or ring binder system, without the things you don't (I don't know about you, but I'd be happy to never hear the click clack of a ring binder again!).
With a discbound setup, you choose exactly what goes inside. And if you decide you want to change it, you do! Our lives and needs change constantly, so it gives you the flexibility to change it up as you need to. Got a project or event coming up? Add an insert. Got a busy period at work coming? Change your weekly spreads to dailies.
This also means that you don't have to wait until January to start. Because it is a flexible system, you can start whenever you like, and don't have to worry about wasted pages.
Another great thing about discbound is that you can use pre-printed inserts, or choose to print inserts yourself at home. This can make them more budget friendly, and also means that you can create your own specialised inserts.
I loved spiral bound for so many years because of this, and it's one of my favourite features of discbound (I know, there are so many other things to love, but it really is one of my fave things!). I love 360° page rotation because sometimes it is just more comfy to fold you planner back on itself, and even when you're short on desk space it's no matter.
If you're anything like me, you want a planner, journal or notebook that feels a little, well, like you. I want it to have the aesthetic I love and make me feel motivated to write in it whenever I pick it. Being able to show your style through the cover, discs and inserts you add means that you can truly make it your own.

A discbound setup is the perfect fit for you if you:
One of the best things about discbound setups is that there is no right or wrong way to use it, so for most people, no matter what their needs are, a discbound system is a great fit.
