5 Easy Ways to Add Colour To Your Planner Pages

Staring at a blank planner spread and not sure where to start? You don't need to be artistic to create pages you love! Here are 5 of our favourite ways to add colour and personality to our pages.

1. Washi Tape

Probably the most reached for item to decorate our pages, washi tape comes in hundreds of beautiful designs so there's something for every aesthetic. Use it to frame spreads, create dividers, build headers, or simply brighten up your page. It's low commitment too because if you don't love it, washi tape will just peel right off.

Washi tape's cousin, PET tape, is also a create decorative choice. Not sure exactly what washi tape or PET tape are? Watch our video that explains them both here.

2. Pens, Markers & Highlighters

We love coloured pens and markers. Not only do they make our pages colourful, but they're also very functional. Use them for colour coding tasks, highlighting what needs to attention, or write out headers that stand out. A good set of pens is one of the best investments you can make in your planner setup.

3. Stickers

Stickers are quick, easy and always satisfying! Whether you're using functional labels to organise your layout, cute icons to mark special events, or pretty pictures purely for the fun of it, stickers are a fun and fast way to add colour to your spread.

4. Stencils

If you love the look of hand drawn elements, but are not quite confident to draw them free-hand, stencils are your answer! They give you that illustrated feel, without needing any artistic ability. Just pick your colours, trace, and voila!

5. Deco Rush Decorative Tapes

These are a bit of a hidden gem! The best way to describe them is washi tape patterns meets correction tape. Instead of tearing and placing the decorative designs, you roll the design directly onto your page with the tape gun. They're incredibly satisfying to use, come in a bunch of different designs, and can transform your page in seconds.
